Marble Slabs from Turkey: Stock, Selection and Export

RVK Mobilya Dekorasyon is an Istanbul-based marble and natural stone slab supplier. We source Calacatta, white, grey, beige and brown marble and onyx slabs from stock and from quarries for architects, contractors, stone fabricators and kitchen and bathroom manufacturers. Selection, quality control and shipping management are carried out in Istanbul, Turkey. Slabs are supplied in 2 cm and 3 cm thickness, polished or honed, in bundles or cut to size, and can be shipped to Europe, the United Kingdom, the Gulf and the Americas.
From quarry to shipment: how we work
Every order goes through the same six steps. The goal is simple: the slab you approved is the slab that goes into the crate.

Marble collection: slabs in stock
The photos below show real slabs from stock; the codes on the red labels are bundle numbers. Colour and veining vary from slab to slab in natural stone, so numbered photos of the bundle you choose are sent before you order. A dedicated page is being prepared for each material; ask for current stock and sizes.
White and Calacatta marbles

Grey marbles

Beige, brown and breccia marbles

Onyx slabs

On request: Volakas, Toros Beige, Marmara White, travertine and other Turkish natural stones. Consecutive slabs are reserved for book-matched installations; see our guide to book-matched marble slabs from Turkey.
Surface finishes: polished, honed, brushed, sandblasted

The finish defines both the look and where the stone can be used. The same slab can be ordered with a different surface:
- Polished: glossy and deep; shows colour and veining at their strongest. Interior floors, countertops, walls.
- Honed: matt, silky surface; lower slip risk in wet areas and hides marks. Bathrooms, hotel corridors, kitchen worktops.
- Brushed / leathered: lightly textured matt surface that hides wear.
- Sandblasted: rough, slip-resistant surface; exteriors, pool surrounds and stairs.
- Tumbled / antiqued: rounded edges and a rustic texture; mostly as cut-to-size tiles.
Selection grades and quality control
Selection (grading) classifies slabs from the same quarry by colour consistency and veining. Most of the price difference between offers comes from here.
- First selection (A): consistent colour, controlled veining, no or minimal cracks and filling.
- Second selection (B): variable tone and vein density; price advantage, preferred for large areas.
- Commercial selection: mixed tones; back-of-house areas, technical rooms and budget projects.
- Calibration and reinforcement: slabs are cut to calibrated thickness; fragile stones such as breccias and onyx are mesh-backed and epoxy-filled on the face.
- Approval process: bundle photo, numbered slab photos and video on request; crating only after approval. Consecutive slabs are numbered for book-matching.

Technical data and test standards
Slab properties vary by material; the values below are general ranges for our stock slabs. Exact sizes and thickness are stated in the quotation.
| Thickness | 2 cm standard; 3 cm on request (countertops and stairs) |
|---|---|
| Slab size | Typically 240 to 320 cm long and 140 to 200 cm high, depending on material and block |
| Finish | Polished, honed, brushed, sandblasted, tumbled |
| Cut to size | 30×60, 60×60, 60×120 cm and project-specific sizes; calibrated thickness |
| Edge work | Straight cut, chamfer; profiles on request |
| Packing | Wooden bundles or crates, ISPM 15 heat-treated timber, strapping |
Natural stone test standards: what the reports contain
In Europe, marble slabs and tiles are assessed under the product standards EN 12058 (floors and stairs), EN 1469 (cladding) and EN 12057 (modular tiles). These standards call for the following tests:
| Test | Standard | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Apparent density and open porosity | EN 1936 | How dense the stone is; low porosity means fewer stains and higher strength |
| Water absorption at atmospheric pressure | EN 13755 | Suitability for wet areas and exteriors |
| Flexural strength | EN 12372 | Load-bearing and breakage resistance; critical for countertops and stairs |
| Compressive strength | EN 1926 | Floors and load-bearing applications |
| Frost resistance | EN 12371 | Facades and cold climates |
| Abrasion resistance | EN 14157 | Floors with heavy foot traffic |
| Slip resistance | EN 14231 | Safety on wet and dry floors; depends on the finish |
| Petrographic examination | EN 12407 | Mineral composition and correct classification of the stone |
We offer natural stones tested in an accredited laboratory, with test reports available. Report scope varies by material; the document set required for EU projects is confirmed at quotation stage.
Density, water absorption and strength values determine where a stone can be used. Academic studies on the Menderes Massif marbles (Bağcı et al., 2010; Yavuz, Türk and Koca, 2002) document the physical and mechanical properties of Turkish marbles, and Stone in Architecture, edited by Siegesmund and Snethlage, is the reference work on the durability of natural stone in buildings. According to the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey holds roughly 40% of the world's natural stone reserves, and in 2025 its main export markets for natural stone were the USA, China, India, Saudi Arabia and Iraq (sources at the end of the page).
Marble slab prices
$195 to $650 per m²
Prices are quoted per slab, EXW Turkey. What drives the price: material and selection grade, thickness, finish, quantity and stock availability. Homogeneous beige and white marbles sit at the lower end of the range, onyx and rare Calacatta selections at the upper end. Cut to size, FOB, CIF and DDP delivery are priced separately. Quotations are valid for 10 days.
Packing, shipping and export documents
- Packing: slabs are packed in wooden bundles or closed crates with ISPM 15 heat-treated timber, protective spacers between slabs and steel strapping.
- Containers: a 20' container takes roughly 400 m² of 2 cm slabs within the weight limit; road freight by truck to Europe is also available.
- Incoterms: EXW, FOB Turkish ports, CIF port of destination and DDP to Europe and the UK (delivered with duties and VAT paid). We hold VAT registrations in the United Kingdom and France.
- Documents: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, A.TR for the EU, origin declaration for the UK, ISPM 15 packing certificate.
- Lead time: bundles in stock are crated within days of approval; new cutting takes 3 to 4 weeks.
- Payment: deposit on order confirmation; balance by bank transfer before loading, after photos and video of the crated slabs are shared.

How much do marble slabs cost?
Our slab prices range from $195 to $650 per m² (EXW Turkey). Send the material, selection, thickness, finish and quantity and you will receive a quotation shortly; quotations are valid for 10 days.
What is the minimum order quantity?
It depends on the material and stock situation; from stock you can start with a single bundle, and for new cutting the quantity is stated in the quotation.
Can I see the slabs before buying?
Yes. Numbered photos of the bundle you choose, and video on request, are sent before you order; the same slabs are crated after approval. Meetings are possible at our office in Istanbul.
Polished or honed: which should I choose?
Polished for gloss and strong veining; honed for wet areas, heavy traffic and lower staining concerns. The same slab can be finished either way.
What does selection grade mean?
Slabs are graded by colour consistency and veining: first selection (A), second selection (B) and commercial selection. Most of the price difference comes from the grade.
Do you supply book-matched slabs?
Yes. Consecutive slabs cut from the same block are numbered and reserved for book-matching, then crated after photo approval.
What is the lead time?
Slabs in stock are crated within days of approval. New cutting and cut-to-size production take 3 to 4 weeks; transit time depends on the destination.
Which documents do you provide?
