Wooden interior door models: lacquered, American panel, CNC carved, veneered, laminate
The photos below are from our own production. Model, colour, handle and frame size are set by the door schedule of each project; the same schedule can be built in lacquer or in laminate.
Lacquered panel door
Lacquer on MDF, classic leaf with two or three panels; moulded frame and architraves. White is standard; any colour by RAL or NCS code. For villas, residences and boutique hotel rooms.
Flush and CNC grooved lacquered door
Plain flush leaf or horizontal and vertical grooves cut by CNC; the most economical lacquered option for modern apartment, office and hotel projects. The photo shows a project batch with lock cut-outs, waiting for packing.
CNC carved door
Motifs and frames carved by CNC, finished in lacquer, patina or gold leaf. The leaf in the photo is raw MDF before lacquering. For classic and neoclassical villas, hotel lobbies and waterfront mansions.
Natural wood veneer door
Walnut, oak, teak or zebrano veneer under clear varnish; frame and architraves in the same veneer. Horizontal or vertical grain, optional corniced head. For luxury residential and hotel projects.
American panel (moulded) door
Arched two-panel or four-panel moulded leaf; primed (painted on site) or factory finished in lacquer. A frequent choice for housing, rental apartment and hotel projects.
Laminate (melamine) project door
Wood grain or plain colour laminate surface; scratch resistant, economical and fast. For housing, student residences, hospitals and hotels. The photo shows a project pallet ready for shipment.
A door is opened and closed dozens of times a day.
That is why the core inside the leaf, the timber of the frame, the fit of the seal and the grade of the hinge matter as much as the colour. Below we show each of them with cross-section and detail photos from our own production.

Production and shipping: photos from project batches
Door batches for housing, hotel and apartment projects; palletising and loading from our own shipments.

Leaf cross-section: MDF skin, solid frame and honeycomb core; the panel profile is integral to the leaf.
Truck loading: pallets by forklift, and the loading is photographed.
Pallets strapped inside the truck; every pallet carries an RVK label.
Which door finish suits you? Lacquer, wood veneer, laminate, primed
For the same door schedule a lacquered leaf costs more than laminate; wood veneer is the top level. The right choice depends on budget, intensity of use and the look you want. For a surface comparison see our article on lacquer, veneer, membrane and laminate.
| Finish | Look | Use and care | Price level | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Laminate (melamine) | Wood grain or plain colour; flush leaf | Resistant to scratches and stains; edge banding quality sets the service life | Economical | Housing, student residences, hospitals, hotels |
| Primed (ready to paint) | Final coat applied on site | Needs a painter and drying time on site | Economical | Contractors with their own painting crew |
| Lacquer (paint on MDF) | Any colour; flush, panel, CNC carved, gold mouldings | Matt surfaces show fewer marks; damage can be touched up | Mid to upper | Villas, residences, boutique hotels |
| Natural wood veneer | Walnut, oak, teak, zebrano; grain direction to choose | Real wood; the tone changes with sunlight over time; varnish can be renewed | Upper | Luxury villas, waterfront mansions, hotel lobbies |
Leaf core: honeycomb, tubular chipboard, solid particleboard
| Core | Property | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Honeycomb | Light leaf, low load on the hinges, economical | Residential interior doors, housing projects |
| Tubular chipboard | Heavier leaf with a fuller sound you feel when the door closes | Hotel rooms, offices, villas |
| Solid particleboard | Heaviest leaf; for projects whose specification sets a leaf weight or acoustic class | Hotels, hospitals, public buildings |
Wooden interior door prices 2026 (EXW Istanbul)
Door prices are quoted per door set: leaf, frame, architraves on both sides, seal and hinges. The bands below are our own 2026 quotation levels; only a dated proforma is binding. Prices in USD, excluding Turkish VAT.
| Door type (complete set) | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Flush or CNC grooved lacquered door set | From 250 USD |
| American panel and classic panel lacquered door set | Within the 250-485 USD band, depending on panel count and profile |
| CNC carved, patinated or gold relief moulding lacquered door set | Up to 485 USD |
| Laminate project door and natural wood veneer door set | Quoted per project, by quantity, size and veneer species |
| Handle, lock and rose set | Separate line on the proforma; stainless steel or brass look options |
Custom sizes, wide frames, double doors, glazed panels and acoustic seals are shown as separate lines on the proforma. For the order process, MOQ and payment see our 2026 article on prices, lead times and payment.
Research note. In customised furniture and joinery decisions, about 50% of the buyer's choice is explained by price, 20% by the degree of customisation, 20% by delivery time and 10% by the time spent on customisation (Lihra, Buehlmann and Graf, 2012, Journal of Forest Economics). That is why our door quotations set out price, lead time and model options on the same page.
Details define quality
A door shows its quality in cross-section and in use, not in a photo. These four images show where to look.
Leaf cross-section: solid frame, MDF skins, honeycomb core; hinges and lock are screwed into solid timber.
Tubular chipboard core section: a heavy, solid-feeling leaf for specified projects.
Frame corner section: solid timber frame, seal groove and architrave joint.
Hardware set: stainless steel hinges, lever handles on roses, lock and frame seal; chosen to the specification.
Always ask when comparing quotes
- Core and frame: honeycomb, tubular or solid particleboard; is there solid timber at hinge and lock positions.
- Sound: Sound passes through the leaf itself and through the gaps between frame and leaf (leak paths); without seals and a closed bottom gap, a heavy leaf alone is not enough (Hongisto, 2000, Journal of Sound and Vibration). For hotels and offices, ask for the seal and threshold detail in the quote.
- Moisture: Wood-based panels swell in thickness when they take up moisture (Halligan, 1970, Wood Science and Technology); for bathroom and wet room doors, ask about moisture-resistant board and a sealed bottom edge.
- Lacquer and varnish: The service life of a varnished surface depends on the film's resistance to physical, mechanical and chemical stress (Kaygın and Akgün, 2008). The primer, paint and varnish build-up should be written on the proforma.
- Boards and formaldehyde: Wood-based panels are among the main sources of indoor formaldehyde (Salthammer, Mentese and Marutzky, 2010, Chemical Reviews); in the EU the limit for wood-based products is 0.062 mg/m³ from 6 August 2026.
- Hardware: number and grade of hinges (EN 1935), lock type (EN 12209), handle material.
- Packing: leaves face to face with corner protection, particleboard covered pallets, ISPM 15 mark, labels by door schedule.

Frequently asked questions
How is the price of a wooden interior door calculated?
Per door set: leaf, frame, architraves on both sides, seal and hinges are one price; the handle, lock and rose set is a separate line. The price depends on the model (flush, panel, CNC carved, gold mouldings), the finish (lacquer, veneer, laminate), the leaf size and the frame width. 2026 indicative band: a lacquered door set costs 250-485 USD depending on the model, EXW Istanbul, excluding VAT.
What is the lead time?
About 10 days for 30 door sets after the deposit and door schedule approval. For large project batches (100 door sets and more) the lead time is stated on the proforma. Road transit to Europe is 4-7 days.
Is there a minimum order?
30 door sets for project orders. When a kitchen or furniture is in the same order we also produce smaller door quantities; in the Bristol villa and Tunisia 5-apartment projects the doors shipped together with the kitchens.
Do I need drawings or a door schedule?
Yes. Quotation and production are based on your or your architect's door schedule (quantity, leaf size, handing, wall thickness) and drawings if available; we do not offer a drawing service, we build to your schedule and drawings.
Which countries do you ship doors to?
Everywhere in Turkey; the European Union, the United Kingdom, the Gulf states, Iraq, the Balkans and Africa. Past door projects were delivered to Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Kosovo, the United Kingdom, Tunisia and North Cyprus.
Do you install?
Projects in Turkey are delivered with installation; at the North Cyprus State Hospital 55 doors were delivered installed. For other projects abroad we do not install; frames travel knocked down, leaves on pallets, every pallet is labelled by door schedule and your local team installs.
Do you make fire-rated doors?
Our standard interior doors carry no fire rating; an ordinary wooden door without added protection does not reach 30 minutes of fire resistance (Tutikian et al., 2020, Revista de la Construcción). For projects that require a fire resistance class we prepare the quote per project: state the test standard in your specification (EN 1634-1 or BS 476-22) and the certificate requirement in your enquiry, and we confirm the certificate status in writing in the quote.
Which material suits bathroom doors?
For wet rooms we recommend a laminate surface or lacquer on moisture-resistant board, a leaf with a sealed bottom edge and a frame seal; mark the bathroom doors separately in your door schedule.
What are the payment terms?
40% deposit with the order, 60% balance before shipment, by bank transfer (EUR, USD or GBP). We do not work with letters of credit. The proforma is valid for 10 days.
Are handles, locks and hinges included?
Hinges and the frame seal are included in the door set. The handle, lock and rose set is shown on a separate line of the proforma according to your choice (stainless steel or brass look); you can also send your own hardware and we cut the lock recess to suit it.
Can you quote delivered (DDP) prices?
Our prices are EXW Istanbul. For Europe and the United Kingdom we prepare a door-to-door freight quote on request; RVK is UK VAT registered. For the cost items of a delivered price see this article.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, 24 months against manufacturing defects.
